The 14-Day Study Plan

With 2 weeks to go before your professional accountancy exams, this is no longer about learning everything — it’s about exam performance, technique, and mindset.

1️⃣ Stop Passive Studying — Switch to Exam Mode

At this stage:

  • ❌ No more rereading textbooks

  • ❌ No more highlighting

  • ❌ No more “I’ll just watch one more lecture”

You should now be:

  • ✅ Doing timed questions

  • ✅ Practising full sections/mock exams under exam conditions

  • ✅ Reviewing answers actively and carefully (develop your ‘cheat sheet’)

2️⃣ Work Backwards from the Exam Structure

Ask yourself:

  • How many marks per question?

  • How many minutes per mark?

Practise writing answers at that speed.

3️⃣ Focus on High-Yield Topics

In the final two weeks:

  • Identify 5–7 core topics that always appear

  • Identify the core syllabus areas that hold the majority of the marks within the exam - do you know these areas well?

  • Accept you cannot perfect everything

Remember, professional exams reward:

  • Structure

  • Application

  • Professional judgement

  • Clear workings

Not perfection.

4️⃣ Fix the Common Errors

Most failures are due to:

  • Running out of time

  • Poor structure

  • Not answering the requirement by interpreting the question incorrectly

  • Writing everything you know instead of what’s asked

In every question, ask: What exactly is the requirement verb?

Discuss? Evaluate? Calculate? Advise?

5️⃣ Manage Your Energy

Two weeks out is where burnout happens.

  • Sleep 7–8 hours

  • Light exercise daily (20–30 mins)

  • Reduce caffeine spikes

  • No all-nighters

Memory consolidates during sleep. Protect it.

🧠 The Psychology Shift

Right now your mindset should change from: “Do I know enough?”

to “Can I execute under exam conditions?”

Best of luck! Remember, you CAN do this.
