Tenth of Grads Changing Careers Due to AI

One in 10 (11%) of graduates have said they are already changing their careers plans because of AI, according to a new study from Prospects.

While 14% of those surveyed said the rise of job automation had made them feel pessimistic about their job prospects, 43% already wanted to leave their current employer!

Most graduates were changing careers because they feared their job would become obsolete. Areas such as coding, graphic design, legal, data science, film and art were frequently mentioned, with creative jobs seen as the most at risk.

That does not mean AI hasn’t helped graduates write their new CV applications!

The survey found 43% of graduates use AI to edit their CV or cover letter. Some 35% use it to write a CV/cover letter from scratch, and 29% use it to prepare and practice for interviews.
