1. Look out for the following

  • Knowledge gaps

  • Time management issues

  • Misinterpretation of questions

  • Poor exam technique

2. Note where you lost marks

  • Did I not know the content?

  • Did I know it but misinterpret the requirement?

  • Did I run out of time or rush?

  • Did I misread the verb (e.g., "evaluate" vs "explain")?

3. Deep Dive into Examiner Feedback

  • Where are marks awarded?

  • Read each marker comment carefully—even positive ones.

  • If you don’t understand, ask your tutor/marker.

4. Evaluate Your Exam Technique

  • Did you spend the right amount of time per section?

  • Did you plan your long-form answers or jump straight in?

  • Were your workings clear and structured?

5. Re-attempt Key Parts

  • Rewrite the answer/s you underperformed on without looking at the answers.

6. Action Plan

  • Finish your review by listing concrete next steps.

    • e.g revise topic X (e.g. leases under IFRS 16)

    • Practice two time-pressured questions per week

    • Work on written answer planning
